Pakatan Harapan's (PH) de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, had an audience with the Johor ruler on Monday evening.

The closed-door meeting was held at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Baru. Johor's Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim also attended the meeting between Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Mr Anwar, who was accompanied by his daughter and Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah. Several pictures of the meeting between the Johor ruler and Mr Anwar have been uploaded on Sultan Ibrahim's official Facebook page.

It was learnt that Mr Anwar was flown into Johor in Sultan Ibrahim's private plane.

Mr Anwar, who was pardoned by the country's King Sultan Muhammad V and released from prison last week, arrived at the palace ground at around 10.50pm on Monday.

Like many other Malaysian states, Johor fell to the PH alliance that won in the May 9 general election. PH's state assemblyman Osman Sapian is now the new Johor Menteri Besar.
