PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - AirAsia chief executive officer Tony Fernandes took to Twitter to compliment acting transport minister Hishammuddin Hussein's handling of the search for the missing MH370 flight.
"After some unclear statements @HishammuddinH2O has taken control been transparent and ever present. One voice. Transparent. Clear. Honest.
"Seen lots in the aviation industry in my 12 years. This is unprecedented. @HishammuddinH2O must be given praise for his untiring efforts," the AirAsia boss tweeted on Sunday.
As acting transport minister, Mr Hishammuddin has been pushed to the forefront as the face of the Malaysian search and rescue operation.
Many believe that he has handled the role well, especially when facing grilling from the media at the daily press conference.
Meanwhile, Mr Hishammuddin also actively tweets about the incident.
On Sunday morning, he urged Christians to pray for the safe return of all passenger on board MH370 during their masses.
"Good Sunday Morning 2 all - those praying in Churches around the country a prayer please 4 d passengers,crew n their family #MH370."
Mr Hishammuddin also said he was touched by a China Central Television (CCTV) interview with Madam Liu Guiqui, the mother of a Chinese passenger who stormed into the press conference venue in Sepang's Sama-Sama Hotel and was later carried away by security personnel.
She told CCTV that she was not mistreated by Malaysian police, adding that they were trying to protect her from aggressive media.
"Touched me 2 d core. We will continue TQ," Mr Hishammuddin wrote in a tweet.
