Accident rips roof off Malaysian bus; no one killed

(REUTERS) - Passengers travelling on board a Malaysian bus had a miraculous escape early Tuesday when the vehicle's roof was ripped off.

A crash took place at the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia Tuesday morning when a bus crashed into a flyover.

The vehicle was carrying 45 passengers, most of them female workers. The driver said the brakes failed, causing him to crash into the flyover.

The impact ripped the roof completely off, but no one was killed. Rescuers freed all the passengers from the wreckage in a little more than an hour.

The wounded are now receiving medical treatment at Penang Hospital.
