The cockpit voice recorder from a Lion Air jet that crashed last October was recovered from the Java Sea yesterday. Investigators hope the discovery will provide more answers on the cause of the Boeing 737 MAX jet's crash shortly after its take-off from Jakarta, killing all 189 people on board.

Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said in Parliament that Singapore will do its best to discuss in a calm, reasonable and focused manner all outstanding bilateral issues with Malaysia. But he stressed that he does not expect the issues to be resolved quickly or smoothly.
