S. Korea proposes ministerial dialogue with North in Seoul

SEOUL (AFP) - South Korea on Thursday proposed minister-level talks with North Korea next week, after a surprise offer from Pyongyang proposed discussions on a range of commercial and humanitarian issues.

The South's Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl Jae called for dialogue on June 12 in Seoul, and urged the North to reopen severed communications channels for working-level discussions from Friday.
