PETALING JAYA – Malaysian transport operator Rapid KL has rolled out a revised MyTourist Pass starting from RM15 (S$4.60), offering citizens and international visitors unlimited rides across its entire transport network.

The new promotion is launched under the “Rapid KL Denyut Nadi Merdeka” campaign during the National Month – the month leading up to Malaysia’s National Day on Aug 31. It allows commuters to enjoy lower prices.

The pass covers travel on Rapid KL trains, the Sunway BRT line, Rapid KL buses, MRT feeder buses and the Rapid KL On-Demand service within the Klang Valley.

Under the revised rates, Malaysians can now purchase a one-day pass for RM15 (previously RM20), a two-day pass for RM20 (previously RM30) and a three-day pass for RM25 (previously RM40).

For international visitors, the same passes are priced at RM35, RM50 and RM65 respectively, compared with RM40, RM60 and RM80 before.

In addition to unlimited rides, MyTourist Pass holders will also enjoy a week of special offers from more than 40 partners. These include discounts at tourist attractions, shopping malls, restaurants and cafes – with total savings worth up to RM800.

“We understand that customers today want more than just getting from point A to point B. The MyTourist Pass offers double value – affordable unlimited rides coupled with access to a range of exclusive deals.

“We believe this promotion will encourage more people to use public transport while exploring the city’s attractions,” said Mr Ashok Panchalingam, acting head of Stakeholder Experience Management and Group Marketing at Prasarana Malaysia in a statement on Aug 26.

The initiative also aims to instil patriotism in a practical and enjoyable way by encouraging the public to explore the Klang Valley via public transport while enjoying exclusive discounts.

With the long Malaysia Day weekend in September approaching, Rapid KL said the pass is an ideal way for commuters to move around and experience the vibrancy of the capital city.

The MyTourist Pass is available at Rapid KL Customer Service counters, the MyRapid Pulse app and online via the MyRapid Shop at shop.myrapid.com.my THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
