Filipino informal settlers clashing with anti-riot police yesterday during a demolition of shanties in Quezon city in the east of Manila in the Philippines.

According to local news reports, scores were hurt during the stand-off, including members of the demolition team, residents and a member of the media.

A court ruling from Quezon City Regional Trial Court had ordered the demolition of about 100 houses in the district of Culiat.
