ESM Goh Chok Tong meets Kazakhstan President, witnesses MOU signing

Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed areas of cooperation between their countries on Wednesday (Sept 28) during the Singapore leader's visit to the Central Asian nation.

During their meeting, ESM Goh congratulated President Nazarbayev on Kazakhstan's 25th Anniversary of Independence this year, before they adjourned for a private lunch.

Mr Goh and the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Fighting Corruption Kairat Kozhamzharov also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Civil Service College of Singapore and the Academy of Public Administration.

Under the MOU, the Civil Service College will jointly organise a series of training workshops with the Academy of Public Administration for senior leaders from Kazakhstan, supported by the Temasek Foundation International.

Mr Goh will wrap up his four-day visit to Astana on Thursday (Sept 29) and return to Singapore.
