Will HK become battlefield for growing US-China conflict?

There are calls for US to review special status of city seen coming more under China's control

Pressure is mounting on the US to review its treatment of Hong Kong, which is more relaxed than how it deals with the mainland, amid news that Germany has granted asylum to two Hong Kong political activists who jumped bail.

While some say it is hard to pinpoint when the US-Hong Kong Policy Act - which defines the special status the city enjoys - will be axed, there is growing feeling that Hong Kong is increasingly operating as "one country, one system" instead of on the "one country, two systems" principle.
