China finalising 13th Five-Year Plan

China's ruling Communist Party will end a four-day key meeting today to finalise the 13th Five-Year Plan, a blueprint for economic and social development between next year and 2020. The authorities are expected to release a communique today, which will likely focus on financial reforms and how to maintain growth of around 7 per cent.

Award to honour most inspiring women

The Singapore Women's Weekly magazine has chosen 18 nominees for this year's Great Women Of Our Time Awards tonight.

These annual awards honour the nation's most inspiring women. Among the nominees this year are marine biologist Neo Mei Lin, professional triathlete Choo Ling Er, and Dr Jade Kua, a consultant with the Department of Emergency Medicine at KK Women's and Children's Hospital.

Updates on Sino-S'pore Jilin Food Zone

Singbridge and the Jilin City government will hold a media briefing today in which key executives and officials will share updates on the Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone's progress, as well as introduce the first product from the food zone to enter the Singapore market.
