S. Korea's Park to meet Obama

Visiting South Korean President Park Geun Hye will meet United States President Barack Obama at the White House today, for their fourth summit since 2013. Ms Park is expected to reaffirm a strong US-South Korea alliance and discuss recent provocations by North Korea. Mr Obama, on his part, will likely stress the need for South Korea to improve relations with another key US ally - Japan.

Special event to honour volunteers

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will recognise volunteers who have served the community and helped to reach out to those in need, at the MSF Volunteer Awards (MVA) today.

This year, the MVA will honour volunteers receiving seven Outstanding Volunteer awards, 14 Friends of MSF awards, and 163 long-service awards ranging from five to 40 years of service.

Latin Asia business pow-wow

International Enterprise Singapore's Latin Asia Business Forum 2015, an annual talkfest fostering trade, investments and thought leadership between Asia and Latin America, will take place today. Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, is the guest of honour at the forum.
