Taiwan President at midterm mark

Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen reaches the halfway mark of her first term tomorrow, and she is under growing pressure from a public tired of economic stagnation and critical of her reform efforts. Her moves to revise labour laws, including scaling back public holidays, have touched a nerve in Taiwan, where salaries have risen little since the 1990s.

Carnival to promote kindness

Kindness Day SG returns for its sixth edition with the first Kindness Carnival today. Organised by the Singapore Kindness Movement, the carnival, which is free, celebrates and promotes kindness through family activities. The event at the Singapore Sports Hub will include games, food and performances.

Symposium on Reits

The fourth edition of Reits Symposium will be held this morning at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Jointly organised by ShareInvestor and the Reit Association of Singapore, the event aims to help investors learn about the real estate investment trust (Reit) sector and update them on the latest market trends, as they incorporate Reits into their investment portfolios.
