Local polls, by-elections in South Korea

South Korea is holding local elections and parliamentary by-elections today, and the ruling Democratic Party is expected to win the majority of the polls, thanks to President Moon Jae In's popularity.

Candidates will be competing for 4,016 administrative, legislative and educational posts, including city mayors and provincial governors. Separately, 12 National Assembly seats will be filled in the by-elections.


Attempt at ketupat weaving record

Wisma Geylang Serai, the Malay-Muslim social, cultural and heritage hub, has organised a community-cum-charity outreach today, in conjunction with Hari Raya. The event, a "Charity Ketupat-thon", is based on 12 hours of non-stop ketupat weaving by grassroots residents and supporters, resulting in what is expected to be the highest number of residents involved in making ketupat at any one time in Singapore.


SRX to unveil HDB, private rental details

Details of rentals for Housing Board and private non-landed homes will be released today by portal SRX Property. The figures will be for last month.
