Ivanka to attend Games' closing event

US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka will attend the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics tomorrow alongside a high-ranking official from North Korea. US officials said Ms Trump had no plans to meet anyone representing the North. US Vice-President Mike Pence had planned to sit down with the sister of the North Korean leader while attending the opening ceremony, but the North Koreans backed out at the last minute, said US officials.


Iseas to host workshop on ageing

The Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (Iseas) is holding a two-day workshop on ageing on Monday. Policymakers from around the region will discuss active ageing and community-based care, among other topics. Senior Minister of State for Health Amy Khor will deliver a keynote address.


Merkel to reveal Cabinet line-up

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to unveil the Cabinet line-up for what would be her fourth term tomorrow, as she seeks to placate conservative critics while maintaining her centrist approach to policy.

Six of 15 posts will go to her centre-right Christian Democratic Union, and six to the Social Democrats (SPD), assuming SPD members agree to enter the coalition in a ballot whose result will be out on March 4.
