Vietnamese brides beat the odds in South Korea
Imagining a K-pop dreamboat, the reality for many of these women can be a shock. But amid the language barrier and cultural misunderstandings are also love stories.
When South Korean skier Sin Eui-hyun won the first medal - a bronze, for a 15km event - for his country at this year's Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics, his Vietnamese wife was there to hug him and cry tears of joy.
Mr Sin, 38, who went on to win South Korea's first-ever Winter Paralympic gold medal for cross-country skiing in a subsequent 7.5km race, thanked his wife's hard work in raising their two children and taking care of his parents while he focused on training overseas.
