BEIJING - Private firms and the private economy are clearly the buzzwords for this otherwise rather uneventful annual political gathering in Beijing this year.

For the past two weeks at the annual parliamentary meeting, top government officials from Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to chief justice Zhou Qiang have stressed their support for private firms.
