Participants making their way to a shelter during an annual disaster drill in the Ginza shopping and business district in Tokyo yesterday. Some 5,000 people working and living in the Chuo district took part in the exercise, which trains people on what to do in the event of a massive earthquake. The exercise took place ahead of Disaster Prevention Day on Sept 1, when such emergency planning drills are held across Japan.
