There were no goose steps from these dance students at the Yunnan Arts University in southern China's Kunming city as they showed off their balletic moves on Thursday at a performance during a compulsory military training for freshmen.

All students entering universities in China are required to undergo the 15-day programme to instil patriotism in the young generation.
