Train passengers were delighted yesterday to be greeted by cats when they boarded a train in Ogaki, in central Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Train company Yoro Railway and a non-governmental organisation called Kitten Cafe Sanctuary had organised an event, in the form of a cat cafe on a moving train, to raise awareness over culling of stray cats. The passengers were encouraged to play with some 30 cats which were allowed to roam freely in the cafe, and also enjoy a lunch.
