BEIJING (XINHUA) - China will unveil and implement the development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, among other moves to promote coordinated regional development of the country this year, Premier Li Keqiang said on Monday (March 5).

The country will promote in all areas mutually beneficial cooperation between the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau, Li said on Monday morning in a government work report delivered to the first session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC).

Over the past five years, exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau have been steadily enhanced as the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge has been completed.

Hong Kong and Macau have thrived and remained stable.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area is one of China's regions that are called for coordinated development. Others include the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area and the Yangtze Economic Belt.

According to the report, the country will make solid progress in the coordinated regional development strategy, and create a new landscape in regional development.
