New state leaders and removal of two-term limit set to dominate China's annual congress

What grabbed attention last week was the proposal to remove the two-term limit for the president and vice-president in China's Constitution.

But several other significant amendments to the Constitution were proposed as well. These include one that stresses the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) over the government, another on supervisory commissions to further anti-corruption efforts, and a third that will add a new function - environmental protection - to those of the State Council, China's Cabinet.
