BEIJING - Madam Yu Sishu, 65, used to spend her Tuesdays at Changpuhe Park in central Beijing looking for companionship before Covid-19 restrictions in May put an end to those afternoons.

"The park was the centre of my social life. I would look forward to visiting Changpuhe because every visit carried the hope that I might meet someone special," she said.
