Visiting Japanese Defence Minister Gen Nakatani at a wreath-laying ceremony at India Gate, a war memorial, in New Delhi yesterday. In a short joint statement, India and Japan touched on the South China Sea. They expressed concern about recent developments and reaffirmed the importance of respecting international law as reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
