Since Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his troops into Ukraine a month ago, he has become an international pariah loathed by the United States and its allies. They quickly set out to punish him with crippling economic sanctions and called him a war criminal.
But in China, Mr Putin enjoys deity-like status, hailed as a hero who possesses the chutzpah to spit in the face of the world's mightiest giant and its minions.
