Despite a lull in violence in recent weeks, the ongoing unrest in Hong Kong and its drag on the economy will continue into the new year, together with other related problems, analysts have warned.

That is because the protesters and the government are stuck in a deadlock, they told The Straits Times, despite the withdrawal of the extradition Bill, which sparked the city's biggest political crisis.
