DPM Tharman to call on key leaders during China visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam is in China from today visiting Beijing, Tianjin and Dalian.

During the five-day trip, DPM Tharman will call on Premier Li Keqiang on the sidelines of the 2017 World Economic Forum Summer Davos in Dalian, said the Prime Minister's Office yesterday.

In Beijing, Mr Tharman will meet leaders of financial agencies, including Mr Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, and Mr Guo Shuqing, chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission. He will also meet Mr Jin Liqun, president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

In Tianjin, DPM Tharman will visit the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, where he will co-officiate the opening of the Water Reclamation Centre with Tianjin Binhai New Area Party Secretary Zhang Yuzhuo. He will also officiate the launch of Singapore Tee Yih Jia Group-Tianjin Guanhui Blue Food Industrial Park Phase II at the Tianjin Binhai New Area.
