Committee that picks chief executive set up

Hong Kong's powerful new Election Committee, which picks the city's chief executive and nearly half of its legislature, was set up yesterday morning after a delayed vote count.

This is the first election since Beijing overhauled Hong Kong's political system to ensure that only "patriots" would hold public office.
