China is facing complaints from most of the Western world for unfairly requiring foreign firms to hand over their technology to Chinese companies in order to do business in the country.

Last Friday, the European Union lodged a complaint against China with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) amid a brewing trade war between Beijing and Washington which centres on similar charges.
