In a show of strength, China yesterday sent 15 air force planes, including 12 fighter jets, into Taiwan's air defence identification zone.

Taiwan's foreign minister said the island will fight to the end if China attacks. Meanwhile, the US Navy said a guided missile destroyer conducted a "routine" transit of the Taiwan Strait yesterday.
