BEIJING (REUTERS, XINHUA) - China's Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday (May 9) Vice-Premier Liu He will go to the United States to discuss trade at an appropriate time, accepting an invitation from US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

China and US teams are in close communication, the ministry said in a statement on its website.

As a special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mr Liu is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and chief of the Chinese side of the China-US comprehensive economic dialogue.
