Rising out of the dust to the south of Beijing, located amid vegetable fields and rural villages, China's newest mega airport carries the expectations of many.

Beijing Daxing International Airport is slated to open officially on Sept 30, just a day before the country's 70th anniversary celebrations, and villagers living nearby are looking forward to the employment opportunities it will create. Many had been displaced from their homes five years ago to make way for its construction.
