S. Korean MPs head to China to discuss Thaad

SEOUL • A group of South Korean lawmakers defied President Park Geun Hye and left for China yesterday to discuss the deployment of a US anti-missile system that has opened a damaging rift between Seoul and Beijing.

Ms Park had argued the trip would boost China's opposition to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (Thaad) system and deepen divisions over the issue.

Motorists in Taiwan fined over Pokemon Go

TAIPEI • A total of 349 motorists were slapped with fines in Taiwan over the weekend for playing Pokemon Go on their cellphones while on the road. The game, released in Taiwan just last Saturday, has already resulted in broken legs and museum bans.
