China seeks US help over corrupt officials

BEIJING • The Chinese authorities are working with the United States on repatriating five most-wanted corrupt Chinese officials living in the US, a senior official said.

Chinese judicial authorities launched Operation "Sky Net" in April to hunt down 100 major corrupt officials at large abroad and confiscate their ill-gotten assets.

Ex-police chief jailed 100 years for rape

KOTA KINABALU • A former Sabah anti-vice police chief was jailed 100 years and given 15 strokes of the cane for raping and sodomising a girl aged 13 in 2012. Deputy Superintendent Rohaizat Abd Ani, 56 and father of two, was found guilty of four charges of rape and one of sodomy.
