China probes death of top oil exec

BEIJING • Chinese authorities are investigating the sudden death of the top anti-corruption official at China National Offshore Oil Corp, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday. The authorities are looking into the possibility of foul play or suicide in the death of Mr Zhang Jianwei, a key figure in the government's anti-graft campaign, on Nov 3.

Thai police nab more blast suspects

BANGKOK • Thai police said that suspects wanted in connection with a bomb that ripped through a Bangkok shrine, killing 20, have been arrested abroad. "We have caught more people with arrest warrants out for them, including Thais and foreigners," deputy Thai police chief Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul said yesterday.
