At least 29 people were killed yesterday after a huge fire engulfed a fitness centre building in the South Korean city of Jecheon, in one of the country's deadliest blazes.

The fire, which broke out yesterday afternoon, spread quickly through the eight-storey building, that houses a fitness centre, public bath and restaurants.

Most of the victims were found at a public sauna.
