Negotiators from nearly 200 countries begin talks today in Bangkok to try to narrow differences over rules for the world's most comprehensive agreement on fighting climate change.

With the planet facing increasingly extreme weather, the United Nations says delegates must urgently pick up the pace ahead of a December deadline. They are under increasing pressure to compromise on a set of rules to put the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement into action.
