Covering China’s party congress in a time of Covid-19

BEIJING – During what is arguably the most important work week for reporters in China for at least the past decade, my colleagues and I have been badly hit by the capital city’s Covid-19 measures.

I’m not just talking about the swab tests we have been taking at least once every three days, if not daily, but also the door-to-door testing and, worse, flash lockdowns.
