BEIJING (AFP) - Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui Friday night summoned the US charge d'affaires to protest President Barack Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama despite Beijing's strong opposition, state media reported.

"China expresses strong indignation and firm opposition," Zhang told Daniel Kritenbrink, according to the Xinhua news agency.
