China is building the world's biggest radio telescope. Seen here under construction in Guizhou, the 500m-aperture spherical telescope's enormous dish is larger than 30 football fields, and will be connected to one of the world's fastest computers to search for alien life and investigate dark matter. Its engineers say they hope it can be completed in September next year and host international astronomical research upon its completion.
