SYDNEY - The state of Western Australia, one of the few places in the world adamant about having zero Covid-19 cases, is abandoning the battle and finally reopening its borders on Thursday (March 3).

The so-called "hermit" state has taken an extremely cautious approach to the pandemic, including imposing a lockdown in Perth last year after just one case was detected.
