Plane crashes into Mumbai suburb

MUMBAI • A small airplane crashed in a suburb of India's financial capital Mumbai yesterday, killing all four people on board and a person on the ground.

The King Air C-90 aircraft was on a test flight with two pilots and two engineers on board, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said.

Murder charges over HK park shootings

HONG KONG • A woman was charged with murder yesterday over the fatal shooting of two elderly relatives in a brazen daylight attack in Hong Kong, a city with a reputation for safety.

The attack at Quarry Bay Park on Hong Kong Island followed an alleged dispute over inheritance money from an HK$8 million (S$1.4 million) apartment.

Ada Tsim, 44, who is reported to have worked as a bodyguard in mainland China, is accused of shooting two uncles and two aunts in a park on Tuesday using a pistol.

Ex-Pakistan minister barred from election

ISLAMABAD • Pakistan's Supreme Court dealt a fresh blow yesterday to the party of Mr Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister it removed last year, by barring former privatisation minister Daniyal Aziz from contesting a general election on July 25.

Mr Sharif and party call it a bid to help opposition politician Imran Khan.
