TOKYO • Signage at public restrooms in Japan indicating that they are gender neutral have been removed, following outcry from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community that they were being outed against their will when using such restrooms.

65 die of heatstroke in sizzling Karachi

ISLAMABAD • At least 65 people died due to heatstroke in the last three days in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, where temperatures hit 44 deg C, local media quoted a social welfare group Edhi as saying yesterday. The meteorologist issued a heatwave warning for the city for the week.
