Future of MH370 search to be discussed

KUALA LUMPUR • Ministers from Malaysia, Australia and China will meet in Kuala Lumpur on July 19 to discuss the future of the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, Bernama reported yesterday.

A search for the aircraft, which vanished two years ago, is under way, covering 120,000 sq km of the Indian Ocean. Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said the meeting will focus on what to do once the search of the designated area is completed.

Two killed, six hurt in Pakistan attacks

PESHAWAR (Pakistan) • Two policemen were killed and six civilians wounded in two separate attacks in Pakistan's restive north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday, officials said.

In the first attack, a roadside bomb exploded in Peshawar, killing a police constable and injuring six civilians. In the second attack, two gunmen on a motorcycle fired at a senior police official in Dera Ismail Khan as he was leaving a mosque.

Seven inmates caught dealing drugs

SEREMBAN • The police have detained seven inmates at a drug rehabilitation centre in Jelebu for distributing drugs at the facility.

State police chief Jaafar Mohd Yusof said the seven, aged 28 to 42, were admitted to the centre early last year.
