Failed suicide attack at Dhaka police camp

DHAKA • A man blew himself up yesterday as he tried to get into a camp for Bangladesh's elite security forces, wounding two others, in an apparent botched suicide attack.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said a man carrying explosives entered the Rapid Action Battalion camp near the Dhaka international airport yesterday morning.

Tightened security at Taj Mahal after threat

AGRA (India) • India has boosted security at the Taj Mahal after a group supporting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria reportedly warned of attacks in the country and threatened the 17th-century monument, police said yesterday.

Images published in local media showed a fighter in combat fatigues and black headgear at the Taj Mahal, India's biggest tourist attraction, and the words "new target" as the backdrop.

Beijing builds system to recycle rocket parts

BEIJING • China is building a system to recycle parts of rockets used in space launches to bring down the costs of its space programme, the South China Morning Post reported.

The system would bring the rocket engine and booster safely back to the ground so they can be reused in future launches, said the report.
