The first man to conquer both the North and South Poles in the same year, in 1995, is now at the halfway point of a 32,000km two-way drive between his native Poland and Japan - by electric car.

The journey that began on May 24 has taken adventurer Marek Kaminski through the Siberian tundra, the Gobi Desert and then on a ferry from South Korea to Japan.
