Trump committed to Europe: Pence

BRUSSELS • US Vice-President Mike Pence sought to reassure nervous Europeans yesterday of President Donald Trump's strong commitment to transatlantic ties as he met EU chiefs amid protests.

He said Washington's support remained "steadfast and enduring".

"Today, it is my privilege on behalf of President Trump to express the strong commitment of the United States to continued cooperation and partnership with the European Union," he said after talks with EU President Donald Tusk.

But defence lawyers immediately vowed to challenge the decision and maintain the long-running battle to stop Dotcom being sent for trial in the US.
