Last presidential debate

Democrat Hillary Clinton and rival Donald Trump wade into their last presidential debate this morning (9am Singapore time) with the Republican candidate spiralling downwards in the polls amid allegations of sexual misconduct and wild charges of a "rigged" US election.

The 90-minute debate at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, offers Mr Trump what may be his last chance to turn around his campaign.


Transforming private education sector

About 200 delegates from private educational institutions and government agencies are gathering today at the MDIS Campus in Stirling Road to deliberate on the "Transformation of the private education institutions for agility and sustainability in the future economy". Dr Intan Azura Mokhtar, deputy chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education, is the guest of honour at the conference.


ST holding Future Economy forum

The Straits Times is hosting a Future Economy forum, with Acting Education Minister (Higher Education and Skills) Ong Ye Kung as the guest of honour. Mr Ong will give a keynote speech on jobs and skills for the future. The forum comes ahead of a report early next year by the Committee on the Future Economy, which has been tasked with charting a blueprint for Singapore's economic future.
