Release of final report on MH17 incident

International investigators will today release their final report on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over Ukraine.

The Dutch Safety Board will release the report at the Gilze-Rijen air force base in the southern Netherlands.

All 298 people on board died when the flight between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur was brought down during heavy fighting between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists.


Return of The Purple Parade

A record number of 100 organisations have come together to organise an annual event celebrating those with special needs this year.

About 7,000 people are expected to attend the third edition of The Purple Parade, which will be held at Hong Lim Park on Oct 31.

Central Singapore District Mayor Denise Phua, who advises the parade's steering committee, will unveil more details of the event today.


China releasing trade data

China will release its latest trade data on imports and exports today, information that could either fuel the current rally or cause another sharp plunge in the markets. The market has been on an upward surge after the US Federal Reserve indicated that it is unlikely to raise rates this year. But the bigger worry is whether China can drag the economy back on its feet after months of disappointing data. Failure to do so could result in a market rout.
