CARACAS (AFP) - Venezuela late on Friday said it has "ended" its rapprochement with the United States due to a statement by Ms Samantha Power, nominated to become the US envoy to the United Nations.

Caracas said it was ending a trend towards warming ties because Ms Power told a US Senate hearing on Wednesday that she would fight against repression in Venezuela. The two countries have not exchanged ambassadors since 2010.
