Toddler accidentally kills mum with gun

WASHINGTON • A two-year-old boy riding in the back of a car accidentally shot dead his mother with a gun that slid out from under the driver's seat.

The 26-year-old victim, Ms Patrice Price, was pronounced dead at the scene following Tuesday's incident in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the local sheriff's office said on Wednesday.

The child, aged 2-1/2 and identified by local media as a boy, fired the 40-calibre gun through the driver's seat where his mother was at the wheel.

15 nabbed over suicide bombing in Turkey

ISTANBUL • Turkish police have detained 15 people over a suicide bombing in the north-western city of Bursa where a woman injured eight bystanders when she blew herself up near the city's main mosque, Turkish media said yesterday.

The TRT and CNN Turk television stations quoted Interior Minister Efkan Ala as saying evidence pointed to a link with a militant group, but gave no details.

Thieves ram car into Chanel store

PARIS • Thieves used a four-wheel drive early yesterday morning to ram their way through the security grilles of a Chanel store in central Paris in the latest brazen robbery on a luxury store in the French capital.

Local press said the thieves made off with handbags worth several thousand euros.

They left the vehicle burning outside the store in Avenue Montaigne, which is one of the swankiest shopping streets in the world.
